Sir,

ON ISRAEL’S OWN ADMISSION OF HAVING NUCLEAR WEAPONS

We, the Central Youth Committee of Islamic Party of Malaysia (PAS Youth), Angkatan Muda Parti Keadilan Rakyat, Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia, Pertubuhan Jamaah Islah Malaysia and GAMIS are seeking your immediate attention on Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s open admission that Israel is a nuclear weapon state in an interview with German N24 Sat1 TV recently. We are convinced that is not a mere slip of tongue, but on the contrary it is the most direct revelation of a long kept-secret, long ignored by UN Security Council about Middle East real weapons of mass destruction stockpiled by the favored State of Israel.

This has been further supported by the statement during the U.S. Senate Confirmation Hearing on the 5 December 2006 from the incoming U.S. Secretary of Defense, who is also a former CIA chief, Mr Robert Gates that that the Jewish state has the Middle East’s only nuclear arsenal.

We would like to draw to your attention time and again, that weapons of mass destruction are nowhere to be found in the obliterated Iraq as the whole world already knew, neither will you find them in Iran nor will you find them in Syria. But you, under the banner of UN Security Council, UN 1540 Committee and IAEA will find a stockpile of nuclear arsenal in Israel with utmost certainty as it is widely believed that the Israelis has currently amassing between 250 to 500 nuclear weapons in its arsenal.

We urge the US Senate Committee and UN Security Council to take this matter seriously and urgently in the interest of international peace and security. The world has seen enough of these double standards on non-proliferation policy for nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and it is now time to see a genuine implementation of the policy without fear or favor towards any nations.
